Pi has the idea. Ada checks the details. Wee Bot wants more buttons.

Curiosity. Creativity. Community. · Start small. Build something useful.

Your hub, your rules

You don’t need a server room.

An AI Hub can be the laptop you already use, a dedicated workstation, or a small home lab. The useful bit is having your tools, learning projects and safety habits in one place. Expensive hardware is optional.

Pi: “I’ve got an idea.”

Draft a newsletter for your community group. Explore coding. Search your own practice notes. Pick one job you’d genuinely like help with.

Ada: “Aye, but let’s do it properly.”

Check compatibility, keep backups and use sample data first. AI drafts, you decide. Wee Bot is not authorised to buy another graphics card.

01 / Make it yours

The AI Hub Builder

Three choices. One sensible starting point. This is a rule-based guide, not an AI consultation or a compatibility guarantee. Your choices stay in this page: no account, no tracking, and no choices sent to an AI service.

Loading the local planner. If it stays unavailable, explore the pathways and buying guide below.

No current AI Hub plan. Choose your inputs and generate a recommendation before printing.

02 / Choose your scale

Three ways into the workshop

These are learning pathways, not fixed-price bundles. Start with the smallest one that solves your problem. You can grow later.

03 / Investigate, then invest

A shortlist, not a sales pitch

Illustrative product options, not hands-on reviews. No live prices or stock checks. Read the compatibility checklist before choosing hardware.

Buying links & disclosure: there are no active affiliate links in this Hub. Manufacturer links are for research, not endorsements. If affiliate links are added later, each will be labelled beside the link and PSA Studio may earn a commission from qualifying purchases. Nothing here is presented as a hands-on test or review.

Start with what you own

Before making a shortlist, check your existing computer’s memory, storage and supported software. The buying guide covers compact computers, GPU desktops, automation boards and backups even if the product cards cannot load.

04 / Ada’s homework

Buy once. Check twice.

The real cost of your hub

Hardware is only one line. Remember accessories, electricity, backups and any optional cloud usage.

A few honest answers

Do I need to buy a new computer?

No. Begin with what you own. A supported browser can access cloud AI; local models depend on your machine and the software’s requirements. Try a useful task before spending.

Is local AI always private?

No. A local runtime, model download or optional integration can still contact external services. Check network settings, telemetry, plugins and licences. Never start with sensitive client or family data.

Will these products definitely work together?

This is a research shortlist, not a validated bill of materials. Check the exact configuration with the manufacturer, runtime documentation and supplier before ordering. We publish no invented benchmarks or testing claims.

Is this PSA Studio’s actual home lab?

No. “PSA-Style” describes a learning approach inspired by the Cyber Croft: start small, separate responsibilities and keep a human in charge. It is not an inventory of PSA’s infrastructure.

Build something that helps someone.

That’s the point of the Cyber Croft. Start with a useful idea, learn a wee bit, then share what you discover.

Email is for questions, not a promise of a paid installation or support service.
